I was born in Brooklyn, New York. I started my career as a street photographer in New York City, often riding my matte black Diamondback BMX bike through every borough (except Staten Island), snapping pictures along the way. Most of my shots of people were taken from the hip (meaning, I was not looking through the viewfinder when I took them). I captured this shot that way. That is usually the best way to go unnoticed and capture people (not lightning) in their natural element.
